Biohacking Goal: Cognition & Mood
Improve focus, resilience, and mood with measurement-first experiments and safe starting interventions.
¶ Cognition & Mood
¶ Summary
Most “nootropic” results vanish when sleep, stress, and workload aren’t stable. Start with foundations, then experiment with compounds only if the signal is strong and the risk is low.
¶ What to Track
- Primary: focus quality (1–10) during a consistent task block.
- Secondary: anxiety/stress score, sleep timing, caffeine timing.
- Optional: reaction time tests (if you’ll do them consistently).
¶ Common Interventions
- Sleep and circadian alignment: Sleep, Sunlight
- Stress training: Mindfulness, Stress Management
- Training (dose matters): Exercise
¶ Compounds (Proceed Carefully)
If you experiment, start with one low-risk change and a clear stop rule. Use the Interactions Database as a starting point.
¶ First Experiment
ABAB a single variable (e.g., caffeine cutoff or morning light timing) and measure focus during the same 30–60 minute work block each day.
